Beautifully remote yet accessible, Riverside is in the living heart of the Daintree coastal wilderness. Beyond the Daintree River, across the ferry towards Cape Tribulation, lies Riverside and another world. We suggest that you arrive by private car - it will give you the freedom and flexibility to discover the best this unique area has to offer. Riverside is accessible by conventional vehicle, however if you wish to explore the area beyond Cape Tribulation and towards Cooktown you will need a 4WD vehicle.
How to Get Here
Riverside is approximately 18 kilometres from the ferry. Just follow the sealed road all the way to Turpentine Rd. Take a left and Riverside will be signed and on your right just after you cross the bridge.
Just 500 meters up Turpentine Road is the Heritage Lodge and Spa (heritagelodge.com.au) where you can go for a first class meal or just a beer at the Turps Bar. Next door to them is the Premashanti Yoga Meditation Retreat (premashanti.com). For a wonderful breakfast or any meal for that matter, only 2km back out onto Cape Tribulation Road is Lynchaven (lynchaven.com.au). The Daintree Entomological Musuem is also just 500 meters away and is full of insects and butterflies from all over the world (daintreemuseum.com.au).
